This weekend expect the first of three high-impact closures in west El Paso as I-10 East closes from Redd to Mesa for 49 hours starting at 4AM Saturday and reopens at 5 AM Monday. The following weekend starting on Friday the 13th at 9PM, I-10 East will close at Vinton to Transmountain for placement of bridge deck. On Saturday, this weekend’s evil twin closure will be on I-10 West from Mesa to Redd. The detours are to the frontage roads. Even the 56-hour closure because we are opening a lane on South Desert to avoid having to channel all eastbound traffic down to Doniphan. That said, it’s going to be like 10 pounds of traffic in a 5-pound sack, so if you can avoid it, please do. The rest of the I-10 Widening West closures are the now-usual lane closures, and closures of the Redd underpass Monday through Thursday nights next week.
Montana Mill & Inlay is now Paisano Mill & Inlay, because rather than call it US 62, I prefer to use the familiar names. In this case Paisano (AKA the CanAm Highway and US 85) turns into Montana at the auto dealerships just west of Magruder. Who knew? We skipped over where El Paso Water is working and so next week crews will be milling and filling between Alameda and the railroad tracks (the bridge).
Work ramps up on the Horizon/Darrington Project with lots and lots of lane closures. They’re all listed below.
For the first time in a long time, the Loop 375 Widening Project is not closing the main lanes overnight. Huh. Please remember to check the listings under maintenance, spall repair, and guardrail repair below so you are not caught unawares. Cheers to you.
