We had to reschedule the 33-hour closure from last weekend due to a pedestrian fatality on I-10 right when and where the contractor was going to close the road to work. That’s happening this weekend starting Saturday night, lifting Monday morning at 6. It’s I-10 West north of Transmountain and the detour is just continue on North Desert to Vinton. I will try to simplify the rest:

• Daily throughout the week (M-Sat) North Desert will be reduced to one lane at Enchanted Hills to David Road.

• Monday night I-10 East will close at Vinton to Transmountain with only that one night of the (ugh) detour down to Doniphan. No access to Los Mochis from South Desert. Getting two lanes opened in that stretch!

• Tuesday night I-10 East closes at Transmountain to Redd, with the detour to South Desert. Westbound Transmountain will close at Northwestern so we can work on getting that direct connector back open.

• Wednesday night South Desert will close at Redd to Thorn for placement of concrete safety barrier.

• Thursday night North Desert will close at Thorn to Redd for same.

I’ll talk about the rest next week, because you don’t need all this dumped on you at once. If you’re curious, there are maps and it’s listed below. Why experience your pain in advance, amiright?

Especially when you can experience your pain starting this weekend! Because the I-10 Mill and Inlay project will close I-10 West at Sunland Park Drive for 57 hours with the detour to the CD lanes! And they’ll be alternating between East and West I-10 next week, with the closures becoming less impactful as they progress. See below.

If your Spring Break travel isn’t over and you’re headed to the Airport from west of Airway next week, be cautioned the Airway exit could (is expected to) be closed, so allow extra time so you don’t miss your flight. You could take Geronimo but know that Buffalo Soldier under I-10 may be closed as well. Proceed to Airway on the gateway or use Hawkins.

Crews will be re-opening eastbound I-10 to two lanes between Vinton and Transmountain.

• I-10 East will be closed from Transmountain Road to Redd Road.

• South Desert Boulevard will be reduced to one lane from Artcraft Road to Redd Road.

DETOUR: Continue on South Desert Boulevard, re-enter I-10 past Redd Road.

• Westbound Transmountain Road will be closed at Northwestern Drive.

DETOUR: Take Exit 11B (Northwestern Drive/Resler Drive), continue on the Frontage Road, and re-enter the main lanes past Northwestern.

• The direct connector ramp from westbound Transmountain Road to eastbound I-10 will re-open to traffic.
