...and via Remote Video Conference

The City of El Paso in collaboration with UTEP conducted a survey in late August/early September 2021 to identify perceptions, social cohesiveness, and resilience practices on extreme urban heat by the residents of El Paso County. This effort was supported by the North American Development Bank and EPA’s Border 2020 program.
We would like to invite the community to attend a workshop on November 4th, 9.00 am – 10.30 am to learn more about the survey and discuss next steps related to Heat mitigation for our Community.
This event will take place both in person at the Civic Empowerment Center (Blue Flame Building, 17th floor, 304 Texas Ave) and remotely. We look forward to sharing this research with all of you. Please reach out to Fernando Berjano with any questions that you may have berjanofl@elpasotexas.gov

LOVE YOUR BLOCK GRANT AND

The City will receive a $100,000 grant over two years to support resident-led efforts to address neighborhood blight and to fund a Love Your Block Fellow drawn from the community, as well as up to two AmeriCorps VISTA members to build capacity for resident engagement and help strengthen communities and technical assistance from expert Cities of Service staff.
At this time, the City of El Paso is actively recruiting for 2 VISTA service members for the grant that we were awarded. Anyone who is looking to get hands on experience with resident engagement, project implementation, and government experience is encouraged to apply.
